Playa Carmen is one of Santa Teresa’s top go to surf beaches, and one of our favorite spots for begginer and mid level surf lessons. Situated in the heart of Santa Teresa, this beach is widely regarded as one of the best spots for surfing in the area, suitable for beginners and experienced surfers alike. With its many great peaks, visitors can expect to encounter some fantastic and constant waves year round.

The beach itself is also well known for its lively atmosphere and is the most crowded in the Santa Teresa area. Visitors will find many restaurants, bars, hotels, and rental villas lining the street behind the beach. For those who want to explore further, there are also several boutique hotels and rental villas located on the hills overlooking the beach.

In terms of facilities, Playa Carmen has everything from beachfront restaurants, to numerous activities on the main road including a bank (BNCR) with cash machines that accept most bank and credit cards. There is also a pharmacy, bakery, supermarkets, real estate offices, gelato. numerous restaurants, ATV Rentals, and more nearby. Additionally, there are several surf shops located on the main road behind the beach that offer board rentals and other equipment.

Visitors should exercise healthy caution while surfing due to the risk of theft of ungaurded belongings left on the beach. Tthis should not deter anyone from enjoying the excellent surf and atmosphere that this beach has to offer, just maintain good common sense.

In summary, Playa Carmen is a great surf spot with a fun vibe and plenty of nearby facilities.
